The Feast of First Fruits (Bikkurim)

This Appointed Time symbolizes the RESURRECTION of Messiah from the dead.

He is the FIRST-FRUIT of creation, and the FIRST-FRUIT of those having fallen asleep (the dead) – thus also the FIRST FRUIT of the harvest.

According to Scripture, the traditional thing to do on First-Fruits, was to have a wave offering.

Vayiqra (Leviticus) 23:9-11
And YAHUAH spoke to Mosheh, saying, “Speak to the children of Yisrael, and you shall say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest. ‘And he shall wave the sheaf before YAHUAH, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it.

Please NOTE the “morrow” after the Sabbath significance of the above Scripture, meaning that this Appointed Times takes place on the first day of the week *(sun- day), with the recurring weekly Sabbath (falling on a gregorian satur-day). This Appointed Time is part of the first three Spring Appointed Times, and takes place AFTER the festival of Matzah (Unleavened Bread), following Pesach (Passover).

MattithYahu (Matthew) 27:50-53

And YAHUSHA cried out again with a loud voice, and gave up His spirit. And see, the veil of the Dwelling Place was torn in two from top to bottom, and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were split, and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the set-apart ones who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the set-apart city and appeared to many.

1Corintiyim (Cor) 15:20-23

But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has become the first-fruit of those having fallen asleep. For since death is through a man, resurrection of the dead is also through a Man. For as all die in Aḏam, so also all shall be made alive in Messiah. And each in his own order: Messiah the first-fruits, then those who are of Messiah at His coming.

WHEN exactly was Messiah raised from the dead?

Christianity teaches that Messiah was raised on the first day of the week (sun-day), hence they celebrate their pagan (man-made) easter sun-day, instead of celebrating the Scriptural Passover, as commanded by Almighty YAHUAH.

Mattithyahu 28:1

Now [after] the Sabbath (which took place on Gregorian satur-day – the seventh day of the Scriptural week), toward [dawn] on the [first day] of the week (gregorian sun- day), Miryam from Maḡdala and the other Miryam came to see the tomb.

Mattithyahu 28:5-6

And the messenger responding, said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek YAHUSHA who was impaled. “He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Master lay”.

Yahuchanon 20:1

And on the [first day] of the week Miryam from Maḡdala came early to the tomb, while it was [still dark], and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.

In BOTH the above Scriptures, we see that Messiah was RAISED BEFORE the start of the first day of the week (gregorian sun-day). He was thus NOT raised on the first day of the week as Christianity falsely proclaim.

What does this Appointed Time of Bikkurim have to do with Messiah YAHUSHA?
What does this have to do with Passover and Unleavened Bread?

Well, Messiah YAHUSHA is the first-fruits of the harvest. He is the first to ripen in the sight of YAHUAH. Because of Him, we are able to be counted among the harvest of YAHUAH.

YAHUSHA is the first-begotten of the Father (Heb 1:6); the Firstborn of Creation (Col 1:15-16); the first-begotten of the dead (Rev 1:5), and is the First-fruits of those who are to be resurrected (1Cor 15:20-23). Praise YAHUAH! And just as He is our First-fruits, so “He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all His creatures” (Jam 1:18).

Kepha’Ri’shon (1Peter) 1:3

Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master YAHUSHA Messiah, who according to His great compassion has caused us to be born again to a living expectation through the resurrection of YAHUSHA Messiah from the dead.

Chizayon (Revelation) 14:4

They are those who were not defiled with women, for they are maidens. They are those following the Lamb wherever He leads them on. They were redeemed from among men, being first-fruits to Elohim and to the Lamb.

Our mission is to go into the world and witness the Good News (Besorah) to every living creature (Mar 16:15), and recognize that the fields are white (ripe) for the harvest (Yohn 4:35). We are fellow-workers of Elohim’s field (1 Cor 3:9).

Will you be obedient to this call?
